Mission hair free – Laser hair removal and tanning!

There's no doubt about it Sydney is going through a massive heat wave! I couldn't help myself BUT to tan, especially over the festive season! Totally not the right thing to do when you're being treated by laser! But I'm only human and I'm sure a lot of us have come across this problem whilst being treated by laser hair removal so what are the consequences now and what should be done?

Why you should not tan whilst being treated by laser hair removal:

It's really simple when you tan (including artificial tanning) you increase the melanin in the skin which laser is attracted to. This then can cause complications such as burning and skin discolouration, as well as causing the skin to be light sensitive.

Whilst you are being treated at Nad's laser clinic, your laser technician will keep a record of your treatment progress and recommendations for your next treatment.

What you should do if you've tanned and have a laser appointment:
It is highly recommended that your appointment be moved out several weeks (depending on how long the area was exposed to the sun) so that the tan on the skin is no longer active.  Be honest with your laser technician when asked if you have a tan, fake or real so that they can ensure your safety whilst being treated by laser hair removal.
