Lumenis' existing laser hair removal solutions, the LightSheer® DUET™ and LightSheer® ET, are recognized as industry gold standards. More than 50 peer reviewed articles confirm the superior efficacy, safety, comfort and high patient satisfaction achieved with LightSheer products. Leveraging its existing proven technology and adding the most advanced capabilities; Lumenis has created a superior complete Hair Removal offering.

"LightSheer® has been one of our most successful product families for many years and the introduction of the INFINITY™ and DESIRE™ systems is a testament to our continued commitment to innovation, giving us the most comprehensive portfolio of solutions for laser hair removal," said Tzipi Ozer-Armon, CEO of Lumenis. Demos of both LightSheer® INFINITY™ and LightSheer® DESIRE™ will be available for viewing. Equipmed's New ELux810 Aesthetic Laser Sets New Industry Benchmarks for Speed, Comfort, Price and Warranty

SYDNEY, March 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Equipmed, a leading international developer of innovative cosmetic equipment, has launched the ELux810 aesthetic laser, capable of virtually painless laser hair removal at faster speeds than any other laser on the market. The unit is priced below comparable lasers and boasts an unprecedented three-year warranty.

Photo - http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20140320/PH87386

The ELux810 retails for $65,000, a price at least $15,000 below comparable products. Equipmed offers a three-year warranty, one of the longest currently available in the laser industry. Equipmed's PSP partnership program allows a customer to acquire the laser through a three-year lease-to-own contract.

An Elux810 operating at 10 Hz can treat a full back in as little as seven minutes with virtually no pain. The laser delivers an almost continuous wave of diode light to the treatment area, resulting in procedures that are ultrafast, safe and comfortable. The laser can be used with all skin types to remove hair. The ELux810 allows an operator to change the laser's pulse mode from CW to short, long or MultiPulse, protecting darker skin types.

"Our mission has always been to respond to the demands of the medical and aesthetic treatment community. We have consistently delivered on our promise to bring the most advanced products at the best prices to this market. Our PSP program guarantees that every business than can benefit from a laser like this will be able to attain it," says Stene Marshall, CEO of Equipmed.

The ELux810's diode laser is more stable and uniform than other laser wavelengths used for hair removal. This results in a system that costs less to maintain and delivers safer, more effective results.

The ELux810's Specified Optical Device (SOD) is highly accurate in uniformly radiating laser wavelengths, resulting in more effective treatments through decreasing loss and scattering of laser light.

The laser is being officially launched at the 2014 American Academy of Dermatology annual meeting.

Fuzz free pins

If you're tired of shaving, waxing or plucking body hair, only to have it return days later, laser hair removal may hold the answer.

Loved by celebrities, including Victoria Beckham â€" who has revealed she no longer shaves her legs â€" laser hair removal systems use an intense, pulsating beam of light to remove unwanted hair.

“It’s amazing,” Victoria told the March issue of Allure magazine.

“You can go back for little touch-ups if you do see little hairs appearing but I’ve been very lucky that I haven’t had to.

"That was one of the best tips that Eva Longoria ever gave me,” she revealed.

Top aesthetic doctor Vicky Dondos says that Intense Pulsed Light is the best available treatment for permanent hair reduction.

Unlike basic laser treatment, which has a single wavelength of light, Intense Pulsed Light uses charges of pulsed white light.

“The advantage of this system compared to the laser system is that large areas can be treated relatively quickly,” says Dr Dondos, from leading aesthetic clinic Medicetics.

“And the pulse and filters can be changed and varied according to the skin-type and hair colour to increase efficiency and ensure maximum hair removal.”

She explains that not only can each treatment be tailor-made to the client, but where there are different hair colours and varying skin types on the same person, the settings can be adjusted during the treatment.

“With lasers, only dark hair on pale skin can be successfully treated,” Dr Dondos adds.

Unlike waxing, there is no need to let hair grow out between IPL treatments, which means you can remain hair free all the time.
